Christmas Trees – Real or Faux?

The traditional Christmas tree has come a very long way since Prince Albert introduced the trend in the 1830s, evolving into the quintessential centrepiece of the seasonal celebrations.
Nothing evokes the spirit of Christmas more than the sight and smell of a real tree, but for those of us tight on space or wanting to highlight the festive feeling in multiple spaces, the choice and variety of seasonal branches has never been greater.

Faux trees are no longer limited to the synthetic likenesses of the real thing and the alternatives to bringing a living tree into your home provide infinite opportunities to get creative.
A scavenged bundle of woodland twigs makes a dramatic (and completely free!) foundation of branches for any style of Christmas decoration or bauble.
We dressed ours to stunning effect with a selection of sequinned feather baubles, glitter and feather hummingbirds, glitter angel wings and antique gold metal leaf fairy lights, for a festive twist on the naturalistic look.

If your Christmas style verges on the minimalistic, the assortment of pre-lit LED trees is vast, producing gorgeously soft, ambient lighting along with the prerequisite ‘bringing the outdoors in’ element. These can obviously be dressed up or down according to taste, but the white willow and champagne gold trees from our range are superb examples of less being more-
statement pieces that speak for themselves for simple seasonal style.

A Christmas tree will always be the focus of a festive interior, but these days, the vast mélange available really does mean that there is a tree out there for every single style and budget.
It’s almost time to get rocking around yours!
